Four Singaporeans have been
chosen to take part in the Hitachi Young Leaders Initiative, a
forum that will focus on regional issues.
The four representatives are all
undergraduates with diverse academic and personal backgrounds.
The forum in July will see 24
Asian youths debating issues, looking into how to cultivate entrepreneurial
spirit, corporate social responsibility and the role of the media in Asia.
This year's conference theme is
"Asia's roadmap in forging regional cohesion for global advancement."
Participants will also devote
time to the Movement for the Intellectually Disabled.
Rita Zamzamah Mohd Nazeer,
a participant, said: "The students have much to contribute...we have to listen
to what they want to tell us. I think this initiative is a great opportunity for
me to take back other's experiences and combine with mine."
